  • Sedona Day Trip

    Sedona Day Trip

    Hi Lovelies!

I had so much fun a couple of weeks ago when I went to Sedona. It is about an hour and half drive from Phoenix and usually 20 degrees cooler too!

We started by exploring the shopping district known as Tlaquepaque, which was built like an old Spanish mission. I love the architecture and the pathways here.

It really has an old world feel, but it is filled with lots of little shops and restaurants and even art galleries!

I knew I wanted to pick a comfortable outfit to be able to go exploring this day. I was so excited when I found these pants online and 50% off sale! Like seriously what is best, but all the cute things on SALE!

Just an FYI, these pants are a linen like fabric and do wrinkle, but again aren’t they are so cute!?!?!

I paired silver jewelry this time, which is so hard for me to leave gold metals lol.

The Spanish tiles everywhere just make for the prettiest backgrounds and make me so happy!

I love beautiful fountains. My parents back home have a few in their garden and the sound is so relaxing.

If you plan a trip to Sedona, go earlier, the shops open at 10 am and its pretty full after that haha. It is such a pretty location and feels as if you needed your passport to get there. I’ve linked my outfit details down below!

    Pants: Banana Republic (on sale)!

Crop Top: Vida Moulin (just 2 left–hurry)!

Earrings: Adornmonde ( they come in gold too)

Bag: my sister gifted me from an island somewhere lol

Wedges: sold out Tory Burch: Similar

Boater Hat: Romwe ( its $14)!!

    Chic Resort Mountain Shadows

    Hi Loves,

I was so excited to visit Mountain Shadows recently. The decor is sleek and modern on the outside, yet super mid-century “Mad Men” vibe on the inside.

I knew I wanted to find a simple and chic outfit to wear and basically just lounge in it lol. As I keep saying, I want to be a lady of leisure when I grow up. I think I found the perfect thing when I spotted the jumpsuit. Isn’t the wide legged palazzo pant is so chic?!?!

I knew I wanted to style the jumpsuit with my black wide brimmed hat. So I picked out the jewelry to really stand out.

I layered a few different necklaces and paired those with a large gold cuff. I also chose my new fringe sandals to add some texture to the overall sleek look. I love these low wedges with this pant leg.

This is one of my most favorite looks by far. I felt like an old movie dame haha! I’m loving my latest finds from this new online boutique Balia Boutique, and they just got in new arrivals you NEED to check it out. I’ll link all the info below for you!

  • Ellie Activewear Subscription Box

    Ellie Activewear Subscription Box

    Hey Dolls!

So I just received my first Ellie Activewear box and I have to say right away I’m super impressed.  I knew that I would be getting a workout outfit, but didn’t realize there would be more surprises in the box!

Each box contains a complete cute workout outfit.  This July box is still available! This box also has an Ab workout wheel and a Bally’s cooling towel. The fit and quality is always a concern with my workout clothes. I love these pieces! The sports bra has the cutest cut outs and the fit is very soft. I got a size small.

It is really comfortable, and the sports bra is described as medium support. My workouts are usually not that intense, so for me this is perfect. If you tend to workout out more hard-core you might need different support (or if your boobs are bigger too haha). I love the contrasting piping to go with the pants.

I don’t know why, but i’ve never bought workout pants with color blocking and now I’m obsessed. I was missing out lol. These pants I got in a size medium. I was again worried I might need a bigger size, but these are perfect.

The tank top is just the cutest with the mesh back and a bright tangerine color. I like that the fit was a bit oversized, so that you know this one that I’m wearing is a size small.

I love the matching hair ties by Zobha, but I can’t use them, except for decor over my real hair ties lol. They don’t have a lot of stretch so they can’t hold up my super thick hair. I can use them for a cute wrist accessory haha!

So the important stuff. this is a monthly subscription box. You get all the items shown above for $49.95. Such much less than one pair of leggings at Lululemon! And you get the whole outfit with extra workout gear or surprises. I mean really this is such a good deal. Click on the link below!

    Hi Loves,

I recently starting shooting with Jacqueline and have our next shoot already set up for this weekend. can you say road trip!?! Its going to be so fun!

I am loving the trend from yellow gold to more rose gold. I paired my new rose gold aviators with the pink flowers in this dress.

My jewelry is a mixture of metals, but mostly rose gold tones with these long layering necklaces.

Oh my gosh I have been longing for gray shoes for so long and the fact that I found the perfect open toed bootie was amazing!

I’m super excited for what is yet to come on my blog. With my new branding and logo, I feel these good changes will make a real difference to my overall look!

  • PFF Runway of Hope

    PFF Runway of Hope

    Hi Ladies!

I recently attended the Pearce Family Foundation Runway of Hope charity event.  This foundation now has two part to it. The first being Angels All Around Us. This was their primary focus until very recently The Angels All Around Us program assists families whose child is in the hospital receiving care make ends meet and pay daily bills, so the parents can focus on the child getting well. As a blogger, I have been invited to many fun events, but this one was special because the purpose was to raise funds to continue this good work. The newest program of the foundation is Angel Dogs. This program helps a family in need of a service dog financially for the training of one animal.

I had fun deciding what to wear for the event which was going to be a fashion show and more. I wanted something bright and light at the same time, since the weather is now hovering around 100 degrees.

The fashion show involved several local boutiques, including a local designer and NYDJ. Harpreet Maan is a fellow fashion blogger, but I never realized she was designing also. She had many of her collection pieces featured on the runway and for sale this night.

It was fun seeing Rosa from Blush Boutique that night. She had some models walking in the fashion show this night to showcase her boutique!

I had not seen the local blogger gals in a few weeks, so it was great catching up with everyone and sharing this great experience.

Here are some clips of the actual runway show that night. Hope this makes you all want to go next year!

The event was held the Arizona’s first interactive aquarium. We were so lucky to get rooftop views of a private dolphin show! Amazing creatures–so much love for them!

  • Gingham for Summer

    Gingham for Summer

    Hi There!

Summer style in the desert can be tricky. I am always freezing in the exaggerated A/C of Phoenix, AZ haha. So I am always on the lookout for cute tops that I can pair with white denim. I am so loving the gingham trend that I am seeing everywhere right now. I love it in blue, red or yellow! I found this top, which is technically a cold shoulder (yes I cheated on my first love the #OTS top haha).  But, LOOK it also has gorgeous statement sleeves!

I featured this top on my summer wishlist SEE HERE awhile back and finally ordered it. It is so much prettier than I had thought. I am in love with it!

I grabbed a pair of skinny white denim and my favorite island weaved bag (courtesy of my sister Janell’s travels), and I met my friend, Siara for a fun morning at the Montelucia resort here in Phoenix.

I love this area of the Montelucia. It is a pathway right outside the Joya Spa that feels right out of the Secret Garden novel.

I am loving this cold shoulder top so much and you can see more just like it on the link below, including this exact top down below. Also there is a special code for my readers! So cool!!

  • Stop and Smell The Roses

    Stop and Smell The Roses

    Hi Lovelies!

I was so excited to take part in the very first workshop held by Bobbie’s Flowers in Tempe, Arizona.

As a blogger, I’ve gotten invited to many fun events, but anyone that knows me even a little, knows that it has forever been a dream of mine to have a flower shop! I am flower crazy! Peonies have been my favorite for years before anybody knew about them on Instagram lol. My Mom has a huge garden back home in Kansas City, and I love all the flowers there like: Irises, Lilacs, red Peonies, Magnolias, Delphiniums and Hollyhocks!

We started our tour with some time in the freezer (yes my time was very short in there as I am a huge wimp). I did hear that all newly arrived flowers spend time in the freezer first before being cut and placed into water (at I think I heard that.. my teeth were chattering).

Our teacher was Paula, who has worked at Bobbie’s Flowers for many years. She was super knowledgable and very nice. Paula taught us how to take a grower’s bunch of flowers and start by separating them into at least 3 main groups: 1. greens; 2. large statement flowers; 3. smaller bunches of flowers ( or seed pods, etc).

I picked this one for my arrangement!

Paula told us when we chose our vase, bottle, bucket or what ever we wish to put our flowers in, make sure to measure each flower stem by leaning the stem against a tall table and eyeballing it for where to cut the stem.

We are all seriously concentrating listening to Paula haha! It was really fun for reals!

Paula was a great teacher. I know she asked us to make our flowers shorter, but I like my flowers all tall and crazy like lol.

This was right before dividing up my flowers and greens! I got an orange colored mason jar as my receptacle!

    Such gorgeous blooms right?!?

My floral masterpiece when it was done!

I think we all left there smiling the whole way home! It was so much fun and I really loved it. They are lucky at Bobbie’s that I live so far away; or, I may just show up there all the time to hang out and play with flowers. One more tip that Paula told us was to change the water daily and re-cut the stem at an angle, not straight across, this gives the stem more surface space to absorb water. Do this each day too. This makes your flowers last longer!

My blooms (above) at my house almost a week later ( I did lose a few tiny ones, but most of them were still pretty great)! If you are in the Phoenix area stay tuned for upcoming workshops such as this one at Bobbie’s Flowers. A really big thank you to Paula (our teacher) and Kim from Clothes Minded Boutique who connected us blogger gals with this awesome experience!

  • Summer Garden Party

    Summer Garden Party

    Hi Babes!

So when I was in Kansas City, I attended a garden party which gave me the idea for this shoot. I love the the old homes that KC has preserved. Simpson House is one such place. The home is available for events and weddings and has pretty green gardens a long with a gorgeous stone facade.

This entryway reminds me of the grand homes of the South lol. I should have been born when Scarlett O’Hara times were around haha. This long bright blue maxi is super flowy and very feminine. I love the high low hemline and the rounded edges.

2017 May - Plaza - 52 copyKansas City is always so lush in the summer after the Spring rains (it rained more than half the week when I was home)!

    2017 May - Plaza - 67

This dress has pretty lace-up details at the bodice and so I kept my accessories super minimal. The print is also enough to stand on its own.

Long maxi dresses are perfect for this setting and just twirling lol. This pretty blue print is my new favorite one!

I’m crazy about this store. If I had unlimited funds I’d order like twenty dresses right now! Check out Vicic Dolls for gorgeous feminine boho inspired looks.

  • Summer Sundress with Thred Up

    Summer Sundress with Thred Up

    Hi Babes!

I had the opportunity to try out ThredUp recently and I was really surprised how many choices I had to pick from. I love the variety of colors and sizes and the site is so easy to use. I know there are other second hand online stores, but ThredUp choses the most on trend pieces and it has to be of the highest quality.

I was on the lookout for new summer sundresses and I found a great one. I am crazy about bright colors for summer and just fell in love with the details on this dress.

I find that mixing textures with a solid color dress makes you accessories pop! This fun patterned clutch and the multi-colored bead bracelets were a perfect addition to this dress.

The fun flounce detail and the zipper accent are just so cute! Right?!?!?

ThredUp is so fun because you pay 90% of regular prices for second hand clothes. I picked out 2 dresses (see previous post) for $30. If you have clothes or accessories that you no longer wear they will send you a postage paid bag to “clean out” your closet and you get paid for this! Head on over and check out ThredUp for your own cute summer dress!
