PHX Fashion Week 2017 Night One

    Hello Loves!

It was so fun being back at the PhxFW 2017 this year! I look forward to this amazing show each year. I love seeing all the new designs, but as a fashion blogger I think styling my own outfit is the best part lol.

The red carpet experience is the chance to get featured in local publications and photos for my blog!

I chose a leather like corset style dress with my leopards print clutch. I wanted wear statement jewelry such as this gorgeous Dylanlex necklace.

I love running into other local bloggers and seeing everyone’s outfits. The part I really like about being a blogger is a chance to show my creativity.

From left to right: Siara, Kate Berkley, Neyda, Kat and me. If you don’t already follow these ladies click on their links above. They are not only the sweetest, but talented!

This year the photos were tough to get because I had some very tall people sitting in front of me. I got just a few of the designs on the runway without the back of the people’s heads in most of my shots lol. Below are some of my favorite more feminine styles (most designs this night were more urban and masculine–not really my thing).

It was a great opening night and I had the best time. My outfit was a dress that I had bought a few years ago, but had never worn before haha. You know you’ve done that it too. The necklace is linked in this post HERE!!! Clutch can be found HERE!!! Shoes (old–Coach); Bangle: David Yurman

I am working hard on Nights 2 and 3 which will feature behind the scenes on my collaboration with Christine Adar. Can’t wait for you all to read all about this!

  • Night Out

    Night Out

    Hey Babes!

I’m so excited for holiday parties! I love anything shiny, sparkly, twinkly, well you know lol!

This simple, but chic dress is on trend with metallics and cold shoulder cut outs.

I liked the longer length for cooler nights, but the fabric is easy to work with and alter if you want a shorter hem. These shoes are a bit older, but I’m obsessed with them for dancing!

I paired a statement necklace with long chandelier earrings to add even more sparkle.

I loved shooting this dress against the modern lines of this building. I like finding different places to feature my outfits. I will link the dress below. It is still available! It is from my friend Kim’s boutique here in Phoenix and it is online! I’ll link some similar shoes so you too can go dancing haha!

  • Stand Out Florals

    Stand Out Florals

    Hello Lovelies!

I am loving bold dark florals this fall. I saw this dress and knew I wanted to make this shoot a bit special. When I was in Kansas City last month, the architecture is so different than Phoenix, and I wanted to showcase some unique locations. I grew up and lived in KC until 2005 ,when I moved to Phoenix, but its funny how I see places so differently now since I became a blogger. I look at things, buildings, bridges, even walls differently. So many choices to shoot an #ootd!

This dress was shot at two locations, the first being the under bridge on 12th Street going to the historic warehouse district, The West Bottoms. The second location was at the Liberty memorial, the only memorial for Veterans of Word War I.

This dress was very flamenco inspired. I loved the movement and the way it fits, but lets talk about those sleeves!

The West Bottoms was mostly abandoned when I lived in KC, except for Haunted Houses and one random steakhouse, that has since closed. Now it is thriving with warehouse inspired vintage shops, new restaurants, and even a wine tasting room!

The shoes are amazing! The clear heel is so versatile, but actually comfortable too.

  • Jewelry Launch

    Jewelry Launch

    Hi Loves!

I recently got invited to the launch of the latest line by jewelry designer, Jennifer Janesko. She and I had never met #irl, but I was already obsessed with her designs. She turned to be so nice!

Her new line is called Architecture and the clean lines are definitely very in line (pun intended) with her previous collection. Her newest designs are edgy, yet very cohesive. Each piece was feminine without being overly girly.

I loved the cohesive branding of the her presentation that night with the sketches!

There were also plenty of her previous designs to play dress up with haha.

The Janesko jewelry has been a presence in Kansas City since 2011. My sister first introduced me to this line. The fun part is both Jennifer and I went to high school not far from each other in Kansas City, Kansas. I love supporting local talented artists and even more, a gal from my hometown (which is not the Missouri side lol). I will link below her site so you can grab yourself a piece of her beautiful jewelry. Let me know if you do!

  • Art Deco Elegance

    Art Deco Elegance

    Hi Loves,

I loved this shoot so much. It was a quick one because the lobby was full of guests haha, but I tried my best to show you some beautiful features of the Hotel Phillips in Kansas City. Next time, I need to plan a time to shoot in their gorgeous speakeasy bar area and especially their ballroom!

The hotel has dark wood paneling and original iron work throughout. The floors and walls are marble with rich tones everywhere. It is surprisingly hip not stuffy.

The hotel was established in 1931 during the height of the downtown era in Kansas City. Think Prohibition times, complete with a hidden gem of a speakeasy, called, get this, P.S. Speakeasy! I’ll link the Hotel Phillips down below complete with videos highlighting the downtown area.

I knew I wanted a very simple look to feature the elegance of the room. I loved this pink satin wrap dress when I saw it on another blogger babe, but best of all its under $25!

One perk of being home is having access to my Mom’s vintage purses!

I met the sweetest photographer and her husband at the Hotel that day. She offered to shoot my photos of the famous green sofa. They are a team of photographers that typically shoot weddings, but she is looking to start shooting with bloggers! I’m hoping that there will be future collaborations during her Phoenix trip in November.

  • Bold Steps

    Bold Steps

    Hey Babes!

I am loving the fun loose fitting pants for this season. Stripes look good wide or more narrow. Now, this time I really went BOLD for my choice. Usually these colors and stripes would not be my first choice, but I just went for it!

The pant is more of a lightweight fabric, but they are fully lined which will keep me warm as the temperature finally drops here. I plan on pairing these with a solid black turtleneck for cooler days. Think a la Audrey Hepburn!

This bright and sunny day was perfect for exploring the Country Club Plaza Shopping district in Kansas City.

The fun part about visiting KC is getting to borrow my Mom’s vintage bags!

I really kept my jewelry super simple with making the pants the focal point (as if you could miss them?!? Haha!). The gorgeous threaders are on sale now and from a local KC jewelry designer. I may have picked up a few more pieces during this trip, so stay tuned!

    Kansas City Obsessed

    Hi Loves,

So its no secret that I’m a fan of my hometown, Kansas City. Funny thing is when I was living there, I couldn’t wait to move to a bigger city with a cooler vibe. Well, the joke is on me! KC grew up and became a hip town.

Come on and follow me for a tour lol! No not really, I need a tour guide anymore. I feel like a tourist and want to check out all the cool spots. These Spanish Steps are located on the Country Club Plaza and have led to the McCormick & Schmick’s Restaurant at the top for years now. At least this hasn’t changed…yet!

I love how the blue and white stripes on my jumpsuit matched the stairs perfectly! Thanks Plaza for the help with my photoshoot haha! This whole look was fun yet comfortable. I love wandering in and out of the stores on the Plaza in these heels which are so cozy.

Here I go again claiming my stairs!

I love this simple cross body bag. Aren’t the tassel details just the cutest?! An amazing surprise from the Rachel Zoe Box of Style.

I always try to not over-accessorize. Sometimes I still might go a little too far haha!

These earrings are by far my favorite and are by a Kansas City local jewelry designer. I’ll link her info down below!

  • Mountain Retreat

    Mountain Retreat

    Hey Loves,

I recently spent some time, when my Mom was in town, at Mountain Shadows resort. It is such a beautiful place to visit. It has an old Hollywood feel. I love the simple lines and vibe of this resort.

I wanted to style a look that would play up those lines and what better than my cute new pants!  This wide leg style can be so flattering. I really love the subtle stripe print, and I decided to pair a simple cork wedge with this look so as to not detract from the clean look of the pant.

To those of you that have know me or have been following me for a bit now know that my hair is never straight haha!

I recently got my L.V. Kiki subscription box and want to wear these modern lined earrings with this look.

My pendant necklace is also from a previous L.V. Kiki box. Don’t they send me the best stuff?!?

On most Friday nights, Mountain Shadows hosts a Veuve Clicquot Champagne Toast, where the bottle is uncorked by saber!

Those mountain views are amazing! I wish my lawn looked this green lol. Please send help haha!

I can’t wait to go back and spend happy hour there. They have live music playing most Fridays and their indoor restaurant is even dog friendly! Such a perfect idea!

  • Rebel White After Labor Day

    Rebel White After Labor Day

    Hey Babes!

So living in Phoenix makes it the perfect place to keep celebrating summer for at least two more months. I know the rest of the U.S. is getting ready for plaid shirts, cardis and pumpkin spice lattes, but I LOVE white!

I will continue to bring it out all year. I never get to wear white denim in Phoenix really, because well no one should wear denim in 120 degrees! Now my new beautiful white dress is more of a maxi, so I’m thinking I’ll transition it with short gray booties and a cute pink bomber when and IF it ever gets cooler here.

When I saw this dress I knew I wanted to shoot it in Europe with a rustic looking background and an old building feel.  Since, I’m stuck at home this year I found this amazing door!! I’m hoping next summer to pack up this dress (and the yellow gingham two piece) for my summer travels!!

These earrings arrived just in time for me to shoot this outfit! I love the almost filagree look and the chandelier style.

I found these sunnies in a little store in Flagstaff. I love small boutiques and fun finds. I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Emily from Stiletto Beats wearing white sunnies all summer, and I have been on the hunt forever. Her pair was a bit pricey haha. I got these for like $7.50! Score!

My beautiful choker necklace was from my Rocksbox subscription. I actually bought this one because I loved the dainty little discs and the layers!

These shoes are still one of my favorite pair. The suede is super soft and the block heel makes it easy to wear all day! And yes they are still available.

  • Country Vineyard Chic

    Country Vineyard Chic

    Hey There!

I am so excited to tell you about my time in Page Springs, AZ. This small town boasts several wineries and yet has a cosmopolitan vibe to offer with wine! I spent my time at Page Springs Cellars, which is my favorite by far. Their wine is indeed excellent. The have a white blend and a red blend called La Familia which you can sample during your wine flight.

I, of course, had to find the perfect outfit. I seriously have over 150 photos of this outfit. I am loving the two piece look. AND yes another crop top lol. This outfit is from ZAFUL

Ok I love gingham, but have never worn anything yellow. Well, not true, I have never worn yellow since my Mom picked out my clothes lol. I always think yellow and peach are not my colors. Until, I saw this outfit on another blogger and then hunted for it. I will wear this forever haha!

I wanted to style a wedge with this look for a more Euro feel. I grabbed little straw bag (thank you Target!) and off we went to sip some wine.

The winery has a terrace that overlooks the Oak Creek, which was full on this day. Sedona which is very nearby boasts red soil. It was so pretty to see red running water!

Sometimes as a blogger you keep shooting for the perfect grammable photo, but I think the outtakes are super funny. You should have seen the shot of me running a a creepy bug flew by me!

So if you happen to find a fallen clump of grapes what do you do?? Well, you use them as a a prop of course haha!
