Yesterday I met my friend, Mindy at Heritage Square for Phoenix’s version of small business Saturday, Phoenix Flea. The square was filled with talented artists, food trucks, creative people and many many shoppers. At first there was a bit of a daunting line, but we arrived quickly enough.
The crowds were eagerly taking in all the items for sale and all the many colors.
There were many different vintage clothing retailers including a lovely gal that travels the country in her turquoise RV which is actually her store on wheels!
The artists brought their prints, christmas cards and banners to sell.
This lovely stand had hand made lotions and scents
The Bloquettes were there yesterday and they had teamed up with three very talented people for a Braid Bar. They even had a great menu for you to pick which style of braid you wanted for a $10 donation. Half the money went to charity, a domestic violence foundation, Fresh Start. A hairstylist, who has her own blog, Jenny Strebe, www.theconfessionsofahairstylist.com. And Demi and Anthony from Theory Salon in Scottsdale who helped with the braiding and make-up.
My friend Mindy also participated in the Braid Bar!
This group of guys have taken vintage luggage and turned them into docking systems for your mp3 players with full stereo speakers and some are even bluetooth capable.
The Shine Project was there also. This company hires inner city youth and teaches them how to make jewelry where this allows them to save for college. The store name is called Threads they are online and on instagram where you can view the beautiful pieces more closely www.theshineproject.com
I couldn’t resist I bought two bracelets! So I hope you had fun seeing all the colorful sites of the Phoenix Flea 2014. Look out for them again in 2015 and follow them on instagram.
So don’t forget to Shop Happy and Seek Out All The Prettys.
Xoxo,
Marisol
