Stirrings Cocktail Mixers

Hello Lovelies!

I had a birthday about a week ago and had decided to invite some of my girlfriends over for cocktails and some nice conversation. Earlier in the month I attended Style Con in Orange County where I met Maria, the Stirrings rep. I gushed about how much I loved these products, as I have been using the sugar rimmers for years with my cocktails. She was just as excited as I was and kindly offered to send me a box full of goodies for my party!

I decided to make two types of cocktails that night, first a Blood Orange Bourbon Cocktail and the other a Pomegranate Martini!

Stirrings Blood Orange Bulleit Bourbon

–Pour into punch bowl Stirrings Simple Blood Orange Martini mix

–Add Bulleit Bourbon to taste (1:1 was a bit strong!)

–Add Spritzer such as Club Soda for sparkle

–Add slices of fresh blood oranges to float on top of punch (I also squeezed one blood orange into the main punch)

Menu to suggest: First pour punch above into glass add a dash of Stirrings Blood Orange Bitters and garnish with a spring of fresh Thyme and a slice of a Blood Orange

Pomegranate Vodka Martini

–Pour Stirrings Simple Pomegranate Martini mix into a pitcher

–Add Smirnoff Vodka to taste (again 1:1–may be a bit strong)

–Mix in 2-3 cans of lemon/lime soda for sparkle

–Add Pomagrante seeds (refrigerate for 4 hours–then strain out seeds)

Menu to suggest: Pour cocktail into a sugar rimmed martini glass ( I used Stirrings Pomegranate Rimmer), then drop a few fresh cranberries into glass and garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary

Lol one of my friends just added every garnish on the table into her cocktail—too funny!

So I am super sorry I really did not get any good photos of the actual party as I was crazy distracted being a good hostess (by the way it was full on dinner to: Bruschetta bar, Charcuterie boards, Chicken with potatoes and more).

Dogs & Photoshoots

Hi There!!

I met Krystina from Funny Bone Pet Photography a few months ago when I attended the Bark Happy Pet/Bar Crawl. She was kind enough to help me foster one of the 4 puppies that I brought home one day haha! When I met her and her husband I knew they were nice “dog people”, but she is also a super talented photographer.

When I saw some of her photos I knew I wanted my little troop to try this. And, these two did really good! Ok so we took some treats too, but they still tried to sit and look at the camera on their own!

We met at Papago Park which is located right in the middle of town near the zoo. It is a public park and very pretty. I was excited when I saw the mountains in the back all lit up with the sunset that evening.

So my dpgs are very different from one another. Whiskey is the brown little dog, that I adopted directly from Maricopa County Animal Control last year on labor day weekend. He is a Yorkie Pekingnese mix and about 4 years old (we think). The other dog is Cleopatra (Cleo), she is a Jack Russell Maltese mix puppy who is about 4 1/2 months old. She was also one of those puppies I mentioned earlier. I hadn’t planned on keeping any of the puppies, but funny how this just happens!

These two funny little furbabies make laugh every day (and make me crazy too)!

The colors of the mountains were incredible that day and it was so easy with Krystina guiding us for the pups to be at ease. My only recommendation would be to take an extra person who is not in the photos to make funny noises to get the pups attention lol!

This one most like real life Cleo keeps pulling to do her own thing and Whiskey just looks worried and unsure lol!

There were so many pretty photos and I had a really hard time choosing. I loved working with Krystina and if you have ever considered having photos with your pets her link is below. Check out her site it is so cute!

Lace-up Blouse Trend

Hello!

I hope that your week has started off great. I just got back to Phoenix from a quick trip to Orange County for Style Con. It was awesome to see so many gals excited about new trends and products. The lectures were inspiring as the business of fashion and style is growing more towards influencers having a greater voice!

So, as a new blogger/influencer, I have been leaning towards this lace-up trend since the summer with a few sundresses. Now for fall I have found the perfect blouse and I am excited to share it with all of you!

This pretty blush colored blouse is so soft. The cut is perfect and not a too boxy fit overall.

This blouse is the Venus Style and has he cutest brass button details at the sleeves. I love that you can dress up this blouse with a suede skirt as shown or even with jeans and pumps for a more night time look.

For a bit more of the sexy, try unlacing the top few loops and pull them loose a bit!

Farfetched Apparel Furtribe Collection

Hi All!

About a month ago, I went to a super fun event, a unique bar crawl with dogs! A puppy bar crawl! I had rescued some puppies around this time while working out of town. I thought what a great way show them off and hopefully find them a good home! So off we went to this bar crawl hosted by Bark Happy (cute name right!?)

There I met one of the vendor that day from Farfetched Apparel. I got the cutest tank from her shop, which was a brand new collaboration called Furtribe. This was designed and created with RISTYLE consulting for the dog lovers in all of us. These two talented gals have come up with cutest tees and off the shoulder tops.

Fall Hair Care

Hello Lovelies!

As the weather starts to change everywhere (besides here in Phoenix ha ha) my hair starts to dry out even more than usual. I know I’ve been saying how hot its been, but it will turn colder soon. I think the hardest part for me living in Phoenix is the complete lack of humidity. Also, Phoenix has very hard water. It is so bad most of the faucets at my house have a crust of calcium build-up. Yuck!

When Hask Hair products offered to send me product for review I jumped for joy! I’m always looking for good hair products. As some of you know I had my thyroid removed in 2004 and your skin and especially your hair totally changes. My hair as you can tell is super thick, but it goes way beyond coarse–it is straw-like on a good day.

I received Hask’s Superfruit shampoo and conditioner products and the cutest travel brush ever! Hask is carried at many stores, such as Target and Ulta, which is great because my last shampoo I had to order on Amazon and wait for it to get here (problem if I ran out)!

First of all these products cover a lot of things for me—they are free of parabans, phthalates, sulfates and especially drying alcohol, yup that’s right alcohol in some shampoos. No wonder my hair gets just gets worse. Most interestingly, these products are also gluten free. What gluten you say? Yes, gluten is in many cosmetics too and for me (I am Celiac too) this is such a relief.

The shampoo smells heavenly, fruity and fresh, but NOT overly perfumed. I really don’t love fake fragrances and Hask this is amazing. I washed my hair and loved how clean it felt right after.

Next, I used the conditioner. I usually leave on my conditioner for at least 10 min+ because my hair is super dry, and I have to admit I kinda figured this would happen. My hair gets weighed down if the conditioner isn’t right for me. And, unfortunately this happened. My hair is hard to get balanced. I think for most people it would work beautifully, but my straw-like texture really just stayed and felt oddly heavy instead.

The next time I used The Superfruit Healthy Hair Deep Conditioner. And SO much better. I shampooed first, of course, and towel dried my hair. I applied this creamy, but not greasy deep conditioner and re-wrapped my hair with a towel. (This is my routine anyway–so the excuse of I have to wash my hair tonight is really true)!

I waited about 30 min and rinsed–a total difference! I loved this combination. I don’t typically wash my hair daily because of the texture and thickness of my hair; so this is usually a 3 times a week event LOL.

And voilá here is the result! Oh my gosh these products smell so good. I know I already said this but really for real!

Nautical Inspired Dress

Hi There!

I’ve been so crazy here on my end this week, because it’s Phoenix Fashion Week! It has been so much fun playing dress up and attending the business of blogging lecture this past Friday. My latest outfit post is a bit behind schedule because of all this but here it finally is!

The back of this super cute dress is super feminine and very simple, but oh so perfect for twirling!

This dress is ideal for all the farmers market trips I’ve been making lately. As the rest of the U.S. wraps up their season, we here in phoenix are just getting into our market and festival season (no more heat)!

Oh and I’m still in love with these sandals and their block heels–so comfy and soft, and yes still available!

Fall Work Style

Hello Lovelies!

I am super excited for the first time in years for the weather to cool off. This girl loves summer, but I am loving the fall colors this season so much. Especially the color which Pantone named for their fall/winter 2016 color report, Potter’s Clay! It is kind of a rust/peach like color which I like because it goes with my hair color LOL (almost the same). I met with Jessica, J Petite Photography for this shoot on this hot Phoenix day.

This outfit was super fun to put together. It sort of just came about. It was over 100 degrees this day but that’s Phoenix! The blouse is that cute shade I had talked about earlier, and now I think I need pants and a dress next in this color. In Spanish its called “color hormiga” (literally translated the color of an ant!!). Blouse is from Ann Taylor on sale now. I’m in love with this color!

Fall Stripes for Work or Daytime Casual

Hello There!

I saw this dress on the rack and just knew I had to have it. Usually, I’m not into buying work wear lately, but this dress can be dressed down with a floppy hat or with nice jewelry and heels for work.

I found my dress at Vida Moulin, a small local boutique here in Phoenix, Here . This dress is made from a lightweight fall colors fabric. It moves really well. I paired this cute floppy hat with my dress for a more casual day walking dress look.

I love mixing my shoes and bag shades with various caramel shades. My floppy hat is from last year, but I’m obsessed with this year’s version and it has tassels—you can find it at Target for less than $25!!

Sexy Maxi Dress

Hi There!

I absolutely loved this dress when I saw it at Vida Moulin. Ok so at first I got all tangled with all the straps lol (the not sexy part), but when I got it all figured out it is so pretty.

It is perfect for day and night! Just add a bit more sparkly jewelry and your perfect date night maxi is this one. This dress sold out fast at most places, but I found the exact one for you down below! I got my dress at Vida Moulin boutique here in Phoenix, which is sold out, but this one is Similar and just as cute!

Peach Jumpsuit

Hello Lovelies,
It’s the middle summer and I love pool days, relaxing outside, and sipping a cocktail in a comfortable, but stylish outfit. YET, anyone that knows me, knows I stay away from two colors: yellow and peach. Not that I don’t like either; I actually love yellow, its just that on me I usually feel “washed out”. Also my personality gravitates to brighter happy colors.

This jumpsuit had me sold from the second I saw it online.

It is SO soft and the fabric is totally lightweight. It also has a subtle shimmer, which shows up when the light catches it, but it is still perfect for daytime too.

I love a backless outfit especially since it is usually over 110F here in the summer!

The best part is it can be found on SALE for less than $40!!. You might overlook this jumpsuit on a hanger, but its super flattering on. Check it out before it is gone. I don’t typically shop at this store, but decided to go into the store recently and found the cutest things. AND the home things— oh my gosh too many darling things for words!

I think this would be perfect for dancing too!
