    Mountain Retreat

    Hey Loves,

I recently spent some time, when my Mom was in town, at Mountain Shadows resort. It is such a beautiful place to visit. It has an old Hollywood feel. I love the simple lines and vibe of this resort.

I wanted to style a look that would play up those lines and what better than my cute new pants!  This wide leg style can be so flattering. I really love the subtle stripe print, and I decided to pair a simple cork wedge with this look so as to not detract from the clean look of the pant.

To those of you that have know me or have been following me for a bit now know that my hair is never straight haha!

I recently got my L.V. Kiki subscription box and want to wear these modern lined earrings with this look.

My pendant necklace is also from a previous L.V. Kiki box. Don’t they send me the best stuff?!?

On most Friday nights, Mountain Shadows hosts a Veuve Clicquot Champagne Toast, where the bottle is uncorked by saber!

Those mountain views are amazing! I wish my lawn looked this green lol. Please send help haha!

I can’t wait to go back and spend happy hour there. They have live music playing most Fridays and their indoor restaurant is even dog friendly! Such a perfect idea!

  • Rebel White After Labor Day

    Rebel White After Labor Day

    Hey Babes!

So living in Phoenix makes it the perfect place to keep celebrating summer for at least two more months. I know the rest of the U.S. is getting ready for plaid shirts, cardis and pumpkin spice lattes, but I LOVE white!

I will continue to bring it out all year. I never get to wear white denim in Phoenix really, because well no one should wear denim in 120 degrees! Now my new beautiful white dress is more of a maxi, so I’m thinking I’ll transition it with short gray booties and a cute pink bomber when and IF it ever gets cooler here.

When I saw this dress I knew I wanted to shoot it in Europe with a rustic looking background and an old building feel.  Since, I’m stuck at home this year I found this amazing door!! I’m hoping next summer to pack up this dress (and the yellow gingham two piece) for my summer travels!!

These earrings arrived just in time for me to shoot this outfit! I love the almost filagree look and the chandelier style.

I found these sunnies in a little store in Flagstaff. I love small boutiques and fun finds. I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Emily from Stiletto Beats wearing white sunnies all summer, and I have been on the hunt forever. Her pair was a bit pricey haha. I got these for like $7.50! Score!

My beautiful choker necklace was from my Rocksbox subscription. I actually bought this one because I loved the dainty little discs and the layers!

These shoes are still one of my favorite pair. The suede is super soft and the block heel makes it easy to wear all day! And yes they are still available.

    Daily Look Elite

    Hi Loves!

I am so excited about this subscription box! Seriously its not just a “subscription” box, but an entire service. First, go to their website HERE. Then you fill out your profile with your sizes for different pieces of clothes. Then the computer shows you photos to choose from. So I pick the “looks” that I like, and then I pick those style photos that I hate. Lastly, connect your social media, ie your Instagram. After all that your personal stylist reviews everything and chooses items to send you!! Voila!!

You do get to edit once. Basically, if you don’t like something respond to your stylist’s email ASAP and she will replace/change those items before sending your box to you. Now for the clothes right?! Well I’ve been debating do I show you what I didn’t like/choose first or the pretty things that I loved? Hmmm, what to do? Haha!

Well lets talk about the items that were NOT really me. Being a fashion blogger I have a good handle of what fits my frame really well. I saw the off the shoulder top and usually this is my jam, but this style was too overpowering.

Next was the dress that I showed you on Instastories. I had a dress in high school that was for choir group that looked like this one. So I am not a fan of long lace dresses lol. The color is more brown tone than wine by the way. Not for me.

They sent this little necklace too. Cute, just not my style really. OK NOW FOR THE ITEMS I LOVED!!!

AM I RIGHT?!?!? So crazy about these jeans. They have to be the softest most flexible pair I have ever tried on. They have the perfect amount of rip too which is a major bonus.

This crop top continues to fuel my obsession. It was a satin type fabric with the most fun cut-out back, almost like a racerback.

Next is a simple, but chic slip dress. The dress is real silk and so flirty!

I’m in love with this soft fabric. I was worried it might be a bit short, but I think this makes my legs look longer after all lol.

And the final look is my favorite by far. If I could have designed my dream jumpsuit this is it! Get ready for photo overload haha.

What are YOU waiting for?!? Sign up for this awesome styling service. I’m so excited I tried this subscription box. I’ll link it down below.

    Hi Loves!

I am super excited to bring you the first of my looks from the cutest online retailer ZAFUL . I am crazy about summer style and even though it might be cooling off already in some states, not at all here in Phoenix. It is still way over 100 degrees. Awhile back, I chose my summer wishlist see post here, this is my LATEST take on the off the shoulder and crop top trend!

I was super excited to get this skirt in the mail. It is the perfect summer print and can be worn to dress up a bit, which is how I styled it, or even as a swim suit cover up!

I knew these cute chandelier earrings in my latest box from L.V. Kiki would be perfect with this fun flirty look!

The lace crop top is so darling on. This just fuels my summer long obsession with crop tops this year lol. Btw the next few upcoming posts may have a few more crops tops coming up!!

I had been looking for a black wedge for awhile now. I was super excited to find these (they come in other colors too). I’ll link them below!

Skirt: ZAFUL; More high waisted skirts: HERE!!!

    Crop Top: ZAFUL

  • Summer Essentials Mini Post

    Summer Essentials Mini Post

    Hi Loves!

Its already August! I can’t believe how fast this summer is going by. I wanted to share with all you a few of my summer favorites that I loving right now. Get ready and scroll on down!

Sunglasses: Zero UV These are such a cool iced pink color with a subtle cat eye. This company has really cute styles and most are around $10. Yup, that’s right!!!

Cranberry Sugar Body Scrub: Lather This sugar scrub has pieces of little cranberries in it! Ok so this makes me super happy haha. It leaves your skin soft and smooth and it isn’t overly oily as some body scrubs can be (won’t name which company –it’s one everybody likes, but me).

True Lemon Natural Flavor Packets: True Lemon has many flavors such as lime, orange, wild berry lemonade, and peach lemonade. I am the worst at drinking water and these all natural flavor packets really help my daily intake. No scary chemical fake sugar wannabes here.

Cute flamingo water bottle: Need I say more. Its a flamingo, it has an M, its super cute you can find it at Dawlens

Magazines: I have always had a love of magazines, especially for reading while lounging on my pool float. This 435 Magazine is all about my hometown of Kansas City and the fun new happening things going on there. It makes me miss home, but I love keeping up on how hip KC has become.

Lip Tints & Sunscreen: Babo Botanicals has such great sun protectant products. I love these Lip Tints with SPF 15 and a hint of color. The facial sunscreen is formulated for sensitive skin and SPF 40 for daily wear. Here in Phoenix the sun is why we all live here, but no one wants melanoma or any kind of skin damage. Hence, cover up your lips too–the most delicate skin on your face after your eyelids!!

Gorgeous Gold Tube Cream Blusher: Box of Style This Beauty Counter product is a two in one product for cheeks and lips. This product hydrates and goes on smoothly. It came in my subscription box for the summer from Rachel Zoe. Use this code to get your summer box: PRETTYSSU10

Let me know in the comments below one of your favorite product for the summer!

  • Euro Chic Polka Dots

    Euro Chic Polka Dots

    Hi Loves,

I recently connected with the lovely Harpreet Maan . She is a fellow fashion blogger who has been busily creating her first collection. I first saw her designs in person a few months ago and I fell in LOVE!

This stunning two piece outfit is my favorite thing that I have featured in a long time! I like a wide leg pant so much because they make you look taller and leaner! This palazzo pant leg really stands out with the fabric being so lightweight.

The details on the top are so pretty with the satin trim, the front bow and the cut-out!

I wanted to keep the jewelry equally as chic and elegant, so I chose a simple thin bangle, a small pendent necklace along with my favorite modern edge circle earrings.

I had so much fun shooting this outfit. It made me wish I was on a yacht in the Mediterranean!

We were welcomed this day at L’Auberege in Sedona. It was a beautiful overcast day, which was a nice change from too much sun here in Phoenix.

I ordered up some Rosé and promptly started planning how to move into the resort forever haha!

The restaurant is located on the banks of the creek itself and it was so peaceful and beautiful.

Lunch was delicious and so perfect. They even had Gluten Free bread so I was in heaven!!

Cheers babes! I loved strutting around L’Auberge in this beautiful creation. Go on over and check out Harpreet’s designs, as she is now making custom apparel. Her fabrics are being imported from India and you never have to worry about showing up to an event and living the dreaded “someone else is wearing your dress” (yes it happened to me at the Red Dress event…sigh).

    Necklace: Norstrom (now on sale!)

  • Sedona Day Trip

    Sedona Day Trip

    Hi Lovelies!

I had so much fun a couple of weeks ago when I went to Sedona. It is about an hour and half drive from Phoenix and usually 20 degrees cooler too!

We started by exploring the shopping district known as Tlaquepaque, which was built like an old Spanish mission. I love the architecture and the pathways here.

It really has an old world feel, but it is filled with lots of little shops and restaurants and even art galleries!

I knew I wanted to pick a comfortable outfit to be able to go exploring this day. I was so excited when I found these pants online and 50% off sale! Like seriously what is best, but all the cute things on SALE!

Just an FYI, these pants are a linen like fabric and do wrinkle, but again aren’t they are so cute!?!?!

I paired silver jewelry this time, which is so hard for me to leave gold metals lol.

The Spanish tiles everywhere just make for the prettiest backgrounds and make me so happy!

I love beautiful fountains. My parents back home have a few in their garden and the sound is so relaxing.

If you plan a trip to Sedona, go earlier, the shops open at 10 am and its pretty full after that haha. It is such a pretty location and feels as if you needed your passport to get there. I’ve linked my outfit details down below!

    Pants: Banana Republic (on sale)!

Crop Top: Vida Moulin (just 2 left–hurry)!

Earrings: Adornmonde ( they come in gold too)

Bag: my sister gifted me from an island somewhere lol

Wedges: sold out Tory Burch: Similar

Boater Hat: Romwe ( its $14)!!

  • PFF Runway of Hope

    PFF Runway of Hope

    Hi Ladies!

I recently attended the Pearce Family Foundation Runway of Hope charity event.  This foundation now has two part to it. The first being Angels All Around Us. This was their primary focus until very recently The Angels All Around Us program assists families whose child is in the hospital receiving care make ends meet and pay daily bills, so the parents can focus on the child getting well. As a blogger, I have been invited to many fun events, but this one was special because the purpose was to raise funds to continue this good work. The newest program of the foundation is Angel Dogs. This program helps a family in need of a service dog financially for the training of one animal.

I had fun deciding what to wear for the event which was going to be a fashion show and more. I wanted something bright and light at the same time, since the weather is now hovering around 100 degrees.

The fashion show involved several local boutiques, including a local designer and NYDJ. Harpreet Maan is a fellow fashion blogger, but I never realized she was designing also. She had many of her collection pieces featured on the runway and for sale this night.

It was fun seeing Rosa from Blush Boutique that night. She had some models walking in the fashion show this night to showcase her boutique!

I had not seen the local blogger gals in a few weeks, so it was great catching up with everyone and sharing this great experience.

Here are some clips of the actual runway show that night. Hope this makes you all want to go next year!

The event was held the Arizona’s first interactive aquarium. We were so lucky to get rooftop views of a private dolphin show! Amazing creatures–so much love for them!

  • Stop and Smell The Roses

    Stop and Smell The Roses

    Hi Lovelies!

I was so excited to take part in the very first workshop held by Bobbie’s Flowers in Tempe, Arizona.

As a blogger, I’ve gotten invited to many fun events, but anyone that knows me even a little, knows that it has forever been a dream of mine to have a flower shop! I am flower crazy! Peonies have been my favorite for years before anybody knew about them on Instagram lol. My Mom has a huge garden back home in Kansas City, and I love all the flowers there like: Irises, Lilacs, red Peonies, Magnolias, Delphiniums and Hollyhocks!

We started our tour with some time in the freezer (yes my time was very short in there as I am a huge wimp). I did hear that all newly arrived flowers spend time in the freezer first before being cut and placed into water (at I think I heard that.. my teeth were chattering).

Our teacher was Paula, who has worked at Bobbie’s Flowers for many years. She was super knowledgable and very nice. Paula taught us how to take a grower’s bunch of flowers and start by separating them into at least 3 main groups: 1. greens; 2. large statement flowers; 3. smaller bunches of flowers ( or seed pods, etc).

I picked this one for my arrangement!

    –shot by Jacqueline Treviño

Paula told us when we chose our vase, bottle, bucket or what ever we wish to put our flowers in, make sure to measure each flower stem by leaning the stem against a tall table and eyeballing it for where to cut the stem.

    –shot by Jacqueline Treviño

We are all seriously concentrating listening to Paula haha! It was really fun for reals!

Paula was a great teacher. I know she asked us to make our flowers shorter, but I like my flowers all tall and crazy like lol.

This was right before dividing up my flowers and greens! I got an orange colored mason jar as my receptacle!

    Such gorgeous blooms right?!?

My floral masterpiece when it was done!

I think we all left there smiling the whole way home! It was so much fun and I really loved it. They are lucky at Bobbie’s that I live so far away; or, I may just show up there all the time to hang out and play with flowers. One more tip that Paula told us was to change the water daily and re-cut the stem at an angle, not straight across, this gives the stem more surface space to absorb water. Do this each day too. This makes your flowers last longer!

My blooms (above) at my house almost a week later ( I did lose a few tiny ones, but most of them were still pretty great)! If you are in the Phoenix area stay tuned for upcoming workshops such as this one at Bobbie’s Flowers. A really big thank you to Paula (our teacher) and Kim from Clothes Minded Boutique who connected us blogger gals with this awesome experience!

  • Heart and Soul Workshops

    Heart and Soul Workshops

    Hi There!

I recently had the chance to attend a workshop unlike any other. It was being presented by Marian Mellen. I had met her before when she was at different events selling her handmade yoga headbands. I had no idea she was this gifted. She has this kind, calm presence about her, which is why I think these workshops are so special. This is Marian from the The Zen Bird.

It was held a couple of months ago, but I still keep telling everyone about my morning visiting the Teapot for this purpose (to my friends sorry if I cannot verbalize well what this was really like, so all the more reason YOU should treat yourself and attend). The workshop I attended was a special version held in front of The Tea Pot for bloggers and influencers.

Each workshop has brunch provided and even a sweet gift for each attendee. The future workshops are being held at DeSoto Central Market, where they have an event space upstairs on the second floor.

The brunch quiche looked amazing (this Celiac girl didn’t get to have any as usual lol), but the rest of the ladies enjoyed it thoroughly.

This workshop was very different for me and I’ll admit I would never have signed up had I not been invited as a blogger to try it out. The name of this was Radical Self Love. Yes I know you are thinking, crystals and incense, but it was in one word more than that…it is was…empowering.

So basically, this workshop was about you. Well in my case, it was about me. Some of the ladies attending had children at home, husbands, boyfriends. Only a few of us were single. What I came away with was, it is so important to love your self as you need. To take small moments in each day to make a Self-Love Ritual come true. Marian gave us a list for us to pick 4 rituals to do for ourselves. Little things, such as turn on your favorite song and really just DANCE!! Or even having a cup of tea outside and listening to the birds, the sounds. I try to “just be”. Its harder and harder in the age of social media. We as bloggers need to document for our followers our fun life and adventures. Sometimes I am super bad at “instastories” lol, because I am just enjoying the experience.

Each Heart & Soul Workshop has a different focus, such as Change, Purpose, Courage, Peace. I am definitely going to go back. I left there surprisingly calm and quiet (I know no wisecracks here). Link below will take you direct to the Workshop page to sign up. Gift yourself this you deserve it.

One more note, Marian was kind enough to donate a seat for one of her workshops for my charity event that I just hosted for a dog rescue called E-List Angels. I am so grateful for her generosity and thank you! This is Marian.

    Xx,

    Marisol
